Mum and Baby Yoga in Tynemouth

This lovely class with local mum and yoga teacher Stacey is Mama focused but Baby led with a big emphasis on connection.

Which means that the class is for YOU and catered around the movements we need as new mamas, however if babies need feeding, changing etc then you are able to do this as baby requires and simply join in with as much as your baby allows.

We provide plenty of toys and movements that include babies to keep them entertained, and time for a chat to connect with other new mamas and even maybe find your mama tribe (as well as a hot cuppa)

*Please note you must be 6 weeks post vaginal birth and 10 weeks post caesarean.

This class is designed with babies from 6/10 weeks to crawling in mind.

You do not need any yoga experience, adaptations are offered for all poses to ensure you feel safe and comfortable. We offer payment plans if you would like to pay in instalments please email us.

“Love flows from me into him, and his blue eyes crinkle, huge and happy. Such a smiley baby. The midwife says it can't be a real smile, not yet, just some passing gas or a random quiver of his lip, but I know she's wrong.”

J.P. Delaney, The Girl Before

Postnatal Self Care Events & Packages

We run The Postnatal Place on the Saturday afternoon every other month. This is a special TLC event for anyone who has had a baby within 2yrs. Hours of rocking, feeding, carrying, lifting, and so on, put our bodies into all sorts of awkward positions.

This class is designed to ease out aches and stiffness, to find some gentle movement as you get to know your post-baby body, and some TLC for your mind, relaxing to the sound of the waves. This is your chance to have a little self-care and hopefully you have a loved one who would just love some baby cuddles or a stroll with the pram for an hour on a Saturday afternoon.

The cost is £12.50.

We also have an on-demand offering called The Postnatal Place Bundle - we've put together a selection of recordings and videos tailor-made for postnatal care. They are short, adaptable for walks, baths, and relaxing, and focused on nurturing, restoring energy and regaining a sense of balance in the mind and body. A very lovely way to gently reintroduce some thoughtful movement and mindfulness after having your baby.

Meet the Pre & Postnatal Team

  • Hi, I'm Steph! Thank you so much for checking out our Postnatal Page. I am a Yoga Teacher, Prenatal, Postnatal & Baby Yoga Teacher, and Children's Yoga. Teacher. I am also mama to two vigorous boys, who keep me running around when I'm not practising yoga! On a personal note, I gave birth to my youngest in 2020 during lockdown, so I empathise with some of the emotions that may surface being pregnant during Covid times.

I completed my Pre & Postnatal Training with Sally Parkes Training and I am committed to nurturing pregnant bodies during this unique time. I recognise that pregnancy journeys vary a lot... mine certainly did! But I strive to support and empower women to feel strong in mind and body, ready to embark upon this brand new adventure.

  • Hi, I'm Stacey!

I've has been practicing yoga for 10 years and teaching for 4. I initially trained in Vinyasa Flow in India and I'm constantly in awe of the path yoga takes me on.

I'm is a new(ish!) mam of a beautiful 9 month old boy which has led me to train in Fertility and Pre and Post natal Yoga and she can honestly say this is what I'm meant to be doing. Witnessing women through the most magical time in their life and then seeing them with their babies truly lights me up. I see Yoga as a powerful tool for connection, connection to ourselves, our bodies, our purpose and to each other and she's grateful for the journey it has and is taking me on and grateful to those who allow me to walk alongside them on theirs.
